Verify Oldham County Supervision

Oldham County parole and probation records can show that a person left an institution but remains under Kentucky corrections authority. To verify Oldham County post-release supervision, first distinguish parole from probation, then compare the public offender record with the correct community office. A release date, hearing date, recommendation, signed certificate, supervision status, and final discharge are separate facts. The strongest check uses the exact identity, official status language, location, and the agency record together.

Oldham Parole Versus Probation

Parole is conditional release from a custodial sentence under a signed certificate. It can place a person in the community under conditions or send the person to answer a detainer. Probation is a court-ordered community sentence or supervision arrangement. A bond release while charges remain pending is neither one unless a separate case creates supervision.

ProbationCourt-imposed community supervisionJudgment, KOOL, District 12
Mandatory reentry supervisionStatutory supervised release before projected completion for eligible prisonersKOOL and KRS 439.3406

Definition: A detainer is a request or hold by another authority. An absconder is a supervised person whom the agency reports as no longer maintaining required contact. Neither term proves a new conviction.

Verify Oldham Post-Release Supervision

  1. Open Kentucky Offender Online Lookup and search the exact name. Use PID or DOC number when known.
  2. Open the matching detail record. Compare aliases, date of birth, offender number, conviction county, and sentence data before treating it as the right person.
  3. Read status and location together. A probation/parole district or “LaGrange Office - Oldham County” can indicate community supervision rather than institutional custody.
  4. Record the exact supervision type, dates, location, and any abscond flag. Do not translate an agency label into a stronger conclusion.
  5. Call the published District 12 office when identity or routing remains unclear. Staff may limit personal details.
  6. For formal proof, request the certificate, order, status history, or final-discharge record from the office that created it.

KOOL is the public probationer lookup as well as the state prisoner search; no separate general Kentucky probationer locator was verified. It updates several times daily, but information newer than 120 days may not be final. A current screen is useful for status. A dated agency record is stronger for a historic change.

Oldham District 12 Office

The published directory supports status routing, while KOOL supplies the starting record.

District 12 also covers Anderson, Carroll, Franklin, Gallatin, Grant, Henry, Owen, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties. A Kentucky record can remain active when supervision transfers interstate, so a person reporting elsewhere is not automatically discharged. Central Probation and Parole is available at 502-782-2277 for statewide routing.

Oldham Parole Eligibility Calendar

The Kentucky Parole Board schedules page publishes monthly calendars and eligibility materials.

Kentucky Parole Board post-release supervision hearing schedules

The page is a scheduling source, not proof that release occurred. Hearings begin at 8:30 a.m. Eastern, eligibility hearings are held weekly, and the page is refreshed Monday mornings. Lists show offender name, DOC number, location, and eligibility month. A hearing may occur up to two months before the actual eligibility date.

Some nonviolent, nonsexual Class C and D cases may receive file review instead of an observable hearing. Other hearings may be observed in person or by video under Board rules, but observers do not participate. A calendar entry means a review is planned. It does not mean the Board granted parole or that a certificate was signed.

Read Oldham Parole Outcomes

“Scheduled,” “eligible,” “recommended,” “certificate signed,” “released,” and “finally discharged” mark different steps. A recommendation means release before expiration may occur. A deferment sets a later point for reconsideration. Serve-out means continued confinement through sentence completion. Revocation work may produce warrants, rescission, and a final revocation decision.

No separate general public parole-decisions search was verified. Individual parole history may appear in KOOL. For a final written Board result not available there, use the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet open-record route: Office of General Counsel, Attn. Deanna Smith, Records Custodian, 125 Holmes Street, 2nd Floor, Frankfort, KY 40601; JusticeOpenRecords@ky.gov; 502-564-3279; fax 502-564-6686. Ask for an existing decision or order and identify the person by DOC number.

Oldham Eligibility Is Not Release

501 KAR 1:030 contains Kentucky's general eligibility schedule, but offense type, offense date, sentence, violent-offender rules, sex-offense provisions, and other statutes can override a broad percentage. For some qualifying sentences the regulation uses twenty percent, while other terms use a month or year threshold. Those guide eligibility for consideration, not a guaranteed departure date.

KRS 439.3401 places an 85-percent floor on defined violent offenders within its scope. It is not a rule for every felony. KRS 439.3406 can place an eligible prisoner on mandatory reentry supervision six months before projected completion if discretionary parole was not granted, subject to statutory exclusions. That person remains supervised and does not gain automatic final discharge merely because the institution field changes.

Oldham Violations and Abscond Status

Conditions depend on the order and supervision type. They can govern reporting, residence, travel, treatment, contact, and compliance with law. A public page should not guess at an individual's terms. Read the signed certificate or court order. A reported violation may lead to investigation, a warrant, a Board action, revocation, or another outcome, but an allegation does not establish the final result.

An abscond flag means the supervision agency reports loss of contact or failure to remain under supervision. It does not mean successful discharge, even if the person is not inside a prison. Confirm any warrant through a current official source. VINE may notify registered users about certain custody, transfer, release, or parole-hearing events, but it is not the definitive supervision-order archive.

Oldham VINE Supervision Alerts

Kentucky VINE can alert a registered user to an upcoming parole hearing as well as custody, transfer, and release events reported by participating agencies. Search the exact person at VINELink or call 800-511-1670. Compare the offender number and facility before registering. A phone registration uses a four-digit PIN to acknowledge the alert and stop repeat calls.

Notification is supplemental evidence. An upcoming-hearing alert does not predict the Board result, and a release alert does not prove that supervision ended. Immediate court action, credit changes, or parole decisions can also leave little advance notice. Preserve the alert's wording and date, then compare KOOL, the Board record, and District 12 information. If the event indicates transfer, check the receiving authority before concluding that the person returned to the community.

Oldham Work Release Remains Custody

Oldham County Detention Center lists work release, GPS home incarceration, and work detail alongside AA/NA, religious services, and GED programs. Work release lets a participant leave for approved work under a structured arrangement. Home incarceration uses monitoring. Neither should be described as full discharge simply because the person spends time outside the jail.

The jail states a work-release fee of $20 per day, with short stays paid at booking and longer stays funded by an initial and weekly payment. That is a local sentence-arrangement fee, not a supervision-record fee and not proof that sentence obligations ended. Verify the governing order and current placement through the detention center and court.

How Oldham Supervision Ends

Physical release from a jail or prison does not end parole or probation. Supervision ends through the applicable court or corrections process, commonly after the term and conditions are completed or through a formal order. A move to another district, an interstate transfer, or a temporary inactive-looking screen should not be called discharge without the official record.

For proof, request the final-discharge entry, probation order showing completion, parole certificate and later discharge, or a defined KOMS status history. Kentucky DOC accepts requests at correctionsopenrecords@ky.gov or by mail to Division of Public Affairs, Attn. Open Records Coordinator, P.O. Box 2400, Frankfort, KY 40602. Include full name plus birth date or offender number and a mailing address. KRS 197.025 supplies a five-business-day DOC response framework. The full Oldham County release-record guide explains how institutional release and final discharge fit the wider record chain.
