Luther Luckett Correctional Complex is an active medium-security Kentucky Department of Corrections institution. A person may leave on parole, mandatory reentry supervision, conditional discharge, or expiration of the custodial sentence. Each label carries a different legal result. Confirm LLCC Release Records

Search KOOL with the smallest reliable set of fields. Last name and first initial can prevent an incorrect extra field from hiding a valid record. Add the PID or DOC number when known. 1. Match the full name, PID or DOC number, and physical identifiers.
2. Read status, location, institution start, and supervision category before sentence history.
3. Open the Daily Releases report for the suspected date and search “Released From” for Luther Luckett Correctional Complex.

LLCC Shared Campus Custody Lines

The official LLCC profile describes an active medium and maximum-security institution with a stated capacity of 1,200. The Justice and Public Safety Cabinet operates LLCC. Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center occupies the same campus under a shared-services agreement but is operated by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. A campus address alone cannot identify the legal custodian.

Check the person's source record. A KOOL institution entry and DOC number point to LLCC custody. A competency or criminal-responsibility evaluation ordered by a court points toward KCPC. For LLCC, use KOOL, DOC Daily Releases, VINE, and DOC open records. For KCPC, use the criminal case, committing order, transport record, and both sending and receiving agencies. Calling every departure a “Luther Luckett release” would erase this crucial local boundary.

LLCC Daily Release Types

Kentucky's date-indexed archive extends back to 2012 as of the research date. It is unusually useful after a current KOOL location changes. Search each relevant PDF for Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in the “Released From” column and match the DOC number rather than relying on a name alone. The archive is statewide, not an Oldham-only list.

LLCC Lookup Limits

KOOL is updated several times per day, but the official warning says information newer than 120 days may not be finalized. Frequent updates do not make preliminary data a certified release record. A same-day LLCC event is best checked against VINE and the Daily Releases PDF, followed by the agency file when exact authority matters.

KOOL displays only the last ten convictions. It also does not guarantee a photo on every record, and an image may be old. A photo proves a DOC image exists, not present custody or current appearance. For more convictions or an older former-offender file, the official FAQ routes requests to Offender Information Services at the DOC mailing address.

Note: Record the query date, identifiers, returned status, and location so later changes can be explained without guessing.

LLCC Community Supervision Records

When KOOL moves from LLCC to a probation or parole district, physical prison custody has ended but legal supervision may continue. Parole is conditional release under a certificate. Mandatory reentry supervision is another form of supervised release before projected sentence completion for eligible people. Neither label means final discharge.

An abscond flag means the agency reports unresolved loss of contact. It must not be rewritten as a successful discharge. Likewise, interstate transfer of supervision can leave the Kentucky record legally active while the person reports in another state.

LLCC Release Date Meanings

KOOL separates minimum expiration, parole eligibility, and maximum expiration. Minimum expiration reflects the state's current credit calculation. Parole eligibility only identifies a point when consideration may become possible. Maximum expiration is the outside date displayed for the sentence. None is proof that a person actually walked out of LLCC on that day.

Credits may change through corrected jail-time credit, approved programs, forfeiture or restoration, added judgments, or DOC audit. Warrants and detainers can change the destination even after one sentence discharges. A covered violent-offender rule may impose an 85-percent floor, but the statute has defined offenses, dates, and exceptions. It is not a rule for every felony.

When a public date is disputed, ask DOC for the existing sentence-calculation sheet, custody-location history, and release or parole certificate. Do not ask the records office to make a new calculation. Compare the resulting document with the Daily Releases entry and KOOL status. This sequence separates a predicted date, the authorized form of release, and the event that actually occurred at LLCC.
